If you’re in the mood for some top-class golf this June or July, then this pair of popular PGA Tour events deserve your attention.
The Travelers Championship has been a PGA Tour staple for more than 70 years, having been founded as the Insurance City Open back in 1952. Held in Connecticut, it settled in TPC River Highlands in the Hartford suburb of Cromwell back in 1984. This event has proven particularly popular with golf fans; it typically attracts between 200,000 and 300,000 spectators each year, attendance figures only beaten by the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
This year’s edition, which will be held from 17-23 June 2024, is 1 of the PGA Tour’s 8 signature events this season, meaning it offers an eye-watering prize purse of USD $20 million. With more prize money up for grabs than at golf’s major championships, fans can bank on the world’s best players filling out the field. PGA Championship winner Keegan Bradley is the defending champion after he set a tournament-record score of 257 last year.
General admission Grounds tickets start at $83, while hospitality begins at $198. For more information on Travelers Championship tickets, click here.
Meanwhile, the John Deere Classic will be held from 1-7 July. This tournament, which became a PGA Tour event in 1972, is held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. It is among the final events held prior to The Open Championship, so it’s one of the last chances to warm up – or qualify – for the prestigious major.
Austria’s Sepp Straka will be battling to defend his 2023 title; he produced a final round score of 9-under 62 to claim a 2-stroke victory last year before finishing T2 at The Open shortly after.
Grounds tickets start at $26 (or $18 for Mastercard holders), while all-inclusive hospitality starts at just $106. For more information on John Deere Classic tickets, click here.
