The Texas Open has been thrilling golf fans since 1922, and it will be held on TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course once again from 3-6 April. Entering its 103rd year of existence, the tournament is the 3rd oldest event on the PGA Tour and the 6th oldest in the world. Having spent its entire history being played in and around San Antonio, it also holds the record for the longest golf tournament held in the same city.
In recent years, it has traditionally been held in the week prior to the first major on the men’s golfing calendar, The Masters. Its placement on the schedule allows fans to see many of the stars that will be competing for the green jacket in Augusta making their final warm-up ahead of the competition.
In a particularly thrilling and eventful final day of the Texas Open in 2024, Akshay Bhatia qualified for The Masters for the first time in his career by beating Denny McCarthy in a dramatic playoff to win the tournament. McCarthy had racked up 8 birdies in his last 9 holes to make up a 6-shot deficit on Bhatia at the turn, before Bhatia forced the playoff with a birdie on the final hole – and dislocated his shoulder in celebration!
If you’re looking for more drama at the Texas Open in 2025, then adult tickets start at USD $62 for general admission grounds access. There are also a range of premium and hospitality ticket options covering a range of budgets.
