The UCI Track Champions League is set to return for its fourth season, bringing the world’s top track cyclists together for 5 rounds of competition across 3 venues. The series will commence on November 23 at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in Paris, following closely on the heels of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where track champions will compete on the same velodrome.
The series includes the debut of the Omnisport Apeldoorn in the Netherlands on November 29 and 30. Apeldoorn, renowned for hosting prestigious events like the UCI Track World Championships and the UEC European Track Championships, is also the home turf of Harrie Lavreysen, a double Men's Sprint Champion.
Lavreysen expressed his excitement, stating, "Competing in the UCI Track Champions League in front of my home crowd has been a dream of mine since it began four years ago, and I'm thrilled that this dream is becoming a reality."
The season will culminate with the traditional final rounds at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London on December 6 and 7. Known for its electric atmosphere and sell-out crowds, this venue promises another spectacular conclusion to the league.
With its inception in 2021, the UCI Track Champions League has risen to prominence within the track cycling community, joining the ranks of the Tissot UCI Track World Championships and the Olympic Games as premier events on the global racing calendar.
This year promises more intensity and action with a revised competition format and two double-header rounds. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon.
