Wanda Diamond League is considered the premier series in world athletics, pitting Earth’s most elite track and field athletes against each other for the coveted Diamond League trophy in each sporting discipline.
After a challenging year with cancellations and behind-closed-doors events as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, Diamond League’s next and 12th season is set to return on 23 May 2021 in Rabat, Morocco.
China will host 2 meetings for the first time, with Shanghai to return as normal and a second new event taking place the following week – details of the location are yet to be revealed.
In the first 13 meetings, athletes will be competing for points to qualify for a place in the Zürich, which takes place between 8-9 September 2021. When athletes arrive in Zürich, what came before will no longer matter as this is a “winner takes all” final across each discipline.
