Angine de Poitrine, often abbreviated as "ADP", is a masked experimental rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, Canada. Formed in 2019, the project features anonymous musicians performing under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine (microtonal guitars and bass, loops, vocals) and Klek de Poitrine (drums, vocals). Their name is the French term for angina pectoris and hints at the tense, urgent quality of their music.
Musically, Angine de Poitrine combine math rock, experimental rock and progressive rock with extensive use of microtonal tuning. On stage they perform in black-and-white polka-dot costumes and oversized papier-mâché masks, using a custom double-neck microtonal guitar/bass and live looping to build hypnotic, rhythmically intricate pieces that are largely instrumental.
The duo released their debut album "Vol. 1" in 2024, followed by "Vol. II" in 2026. Key tracks such as "Sherpa", "Mata Zyklek" and "Fabienk" helped them gain attention on the Quebec festival circuit before a KEXP live session recorded at Trans Musicales 2025 went viral in early 2026. That exposure led to sold-out tours across Quebec and Europe. In 2025 they won the GAMIQ Artist of the Year award, and in 2026 "Vol. II" was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.
