The Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open de España is a professional women’s golf tournament. It was first held on and off as an unofficial event, the La Manga Spanish Open, between 1982 and 1996, before it resurfaced in 2002 as the Spanish Women’s Open (Open de España Femenino) on the Ladies European Tour.
Now known as the Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open de España, it is the conclusion of the LET’s Race to Costa del Sol, which is the Tour’s Order of Merit. As such, the players are not only battling it out for their regular prize money but also the honour of being crowned the LET’s Number One.
