The Major League Soccer All-Star Game is an annual exhibition match featuring a team comprised of MLS' star players against a team from abroad.
The game, which is held each summer at the midpoint of the season, was first held in 1996 in the same vein of other major US sports leagues with an Eastern Conference team facing off against a Western Conference team, but in the years since it has largely featured a notable guest team from Europe or elsewhere as the opponents.
In 2024 the MLS All-Star team – which is made via fan voting plus selections by the coach and league commissioner – faced off against their counterparts from Mexico's Liga MX, with the LIGA MX All-Stars triumphing 4-1.
