The Falcons are the football team of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference.

The Air Force Academy first fielded a football team in 1955. The Falcons competed as an independent school for the program's first 24 years.
From 1980 until 1998, the Air Force played in the Western Athletic Conference, winning the conference titles on 3 occasions.
The Falcons joined the Mountain West Conference in advance of the 1999 season.
Each year, the Air Force competes with the Army and Navy academies for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. The Falcons have won this trophy more often than either of their rivals.
