Adelaide United are a men's professional football club based in Adelaide, Australia. Their home venue is Coopers Stadium, and they play in the A-League Men.
History
Adelaide United were founded in 2003. The club filled the void left by Adelaide City and West Adelaide, who had withdrawn from the National Soccer League earlier that year and in 1999, respectively, which had left the city with no representative in the NSL.
The following year, they became 1 of the 8 founding members of the A-League. They were also, along with the Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory, 1 of just 3 surviving clubs from the NSL's final season.
Adelaide enjoyed a strong start to life in the A-League, topping the standings in the inaugural season to become the division's first premiers. They did so again in 2015-16, this time also going on to win the Grand Final for the first time, and they have also won the Australia Cup on multiple occasions.
