Adelaide Strikers have been part of the Big Bash League since its inaugural season in 2011–12. Famous players to have pulled on the team's blue jersey include Rashid Khan, Kieron Pollard, and Peter Siddle.
Adelaide Strikers have enjoyed some success in the Big Bash League, earning a playoff spot on 6 occasions. The Strikers won the tournament for the first and only time in 2018, overcoming Hobart Hurricanes by 25 runs. The team has also become well-known for hosting a popular New Year's eve clash on 31 December each year.
