Overview
The Women's European Volleyball Championship - also known as Women's EuroVolley - is the competition that the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) organises for senior women's European national volleyball teams. Since 1975, championships have been played every 2 years, though the intervals between them have varied.
The inaugural tournament was held in 1949 when 7 nations competed, and in these early years of the competition, Eastern European teams dominated, particularly the Soviet Union. Other nations such as Italy, Serbia, and Poland have all been champions over the years as well.
In 2023, Turkey won the Women's EuroVolley which was held in Belgium, Italy, Estonia, and Germany. In 2026, the host nations will be Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Sweden, and Turkey.
