We recommend you allow for traffic, parking, and any unexpected delays you may encounter so try to arrive at least 1 hour prior to showtime. Patrons can also opt to take bus services to Berglund Center as there are multiple routes to the venue with plenty of bus stops within walking distance.

🅿️ Parking

Parking for events at the Berglund Center will require a $5 advanced parking pass. Advanced parking passes can be purchased at the box office or online until the day of the show. If you choose not to purchase an advance parking pass, based on availability, parking can be purchased at lot entry for $5 cash only
You have the option of parking at no charge in a nearby parking garage from which you can walk to the Berglund Center. In the case of a larger show where parking sells out, the venue will be running free shuttles from the Elmwood Park Garage to the facility as an overflow parking option. The Elmwood Park Garage is 1.0 km (12 min) walk from Berglund Center
Accessible parking is available for guests with special needs and is easily accessible in parking lot A, in the front of the Berglund Center. Ramps are located between the Coliseum and Performing Arts Theatre on the plaza and adjacent to the Special Events Center.

Berglund Center Hotels & Accommodation

As a small city off the tourist trail, accommodation in Roanoke is very affordable. Whilst it is short of luxury hotels, it is abundant in mid-range hotels, holiday homes, and bed and breakfasts.

📍 Where To Stay

To get the full Roanoke experience, stay in the city’s Downtown district. Not only are its popular landmarks and museums found here, but also its best shops, bars, and restaurants.

For a more relaxed and local-style experience, opt instead for one of the neighbouring cities, Salem or Cave Spring. Although largely residential, each of them has its fair share of cool cafes, fine restaurants, and even breweries.

There’s also a variety of quaint towns and communities surrounding the Roanoke Valley which offer peace and quiet amongst nature.

Nature-lovers will particularly enjoy the northern tip of Roanoke from which you can explore the Appalachian Trail, Tinker Creek Greenway, and Read Mountain Preserve.

About Berglund Center

The Berglund Center (previously known as Roanoke Civic Center) is a 10,600-seat arena in Roanoke, Virginia.

📜 History

Built in 1971, the venue was once home to several Roanoke based sports teams, including the Roanoke Dazzle basketball team, the Roanoke Express, and Roanoke Valley Vipers ice hockey teams. Currently, the Berglund Center is home to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League, though is also used to host various collegiate basketball events, professional wrestling, and concerts.

As well as being a premier sports and entertainment venue, the Berglund Center also houses an impressive exhibit hall called Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre, which is used for concerts, Broadway shows, the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, and other special events.

There are 2 permanent concession stands located on both the north and south walls. Patrons can purchase a varied selection of snacks and drinks, including beer and other alcoholic beverages

Entrances are located on Williamson Rd and Franklin Road
All bags will be checked upon entry

There are 2 sets of men’s and women’s restrooms in and near the Special Events Center
There is 1 set of men’s and women’s restrooms located in the Pre-Function Area located on the north wall

Seating

Berglund Center accessibility areas are behind Boxes 1, 3, 7 and 9 and in front of Gates 2 and 11. There is no accessibility for the floor.

Parking

Accessible parking is available for guests with special needs and is easily accessible in parking lot A, in the front of the Berglund Center. Ramps are located between the Coliseum and Performing Arts Theatre on the plaza and adjacent to the Special Events Center. A Genie personal lift with a height of 36 inches is available for stage access with advanced notice.
