There are more than 3,500 parking spaces available to patrons of Scope Arena and Chrysler Hall. However, during large or multiple events, the Scope Garage fills quickly, so arriving at least an hour early is recommended.

In the event the parking garage reaches capacity, there are many nearby options available:

Scope Garage – 100 m (1 min) walk to venue and a rate of $5.00
Bank St. Garage – 400 m (5 min) walk to venue and a rate of $5.00
Brambleton Lot – 700 m (8 min) walk to venue and a rate of $5.00
MacArthur Center (N Garage)– 800 m (10 min) walk to the venue and a rate of $2.00
St. Paul's Lot – 1.0 km (12 min) walk to the venue and a rate of$5.00

Accessible parking in the Scope Garage is available on a first-come, first-served basis. When the garage is full, cars will be directed to the Bank Street garage after dropping off patrons with disabilities.

🚆 Train

Scope Arena is easily accessible via light rail. The Monticello Station, servicing these venues, is located in the center of Monticello Avenue near Charlotte Street and Freemason Street in front of the Wells Fargo Center. It's approximately 250 m (3 min) walk to Scope Arena.

The redeveloped Waterside District is a suave modern locale with some of the best hotels and restaurants in town. What’s more, it offers views of Portsmouth across the bay.

The Freemason Historic District, located directly adjacent to Downtown, is a calmer and quieter alternative to the commercial city centre. Boasting cobblestone streets ilned with Victorian houses, it’s the perfect place to immerse in Norfolk’s heritage and escape the city sounds.

Alternatively, opt to stay in Richmond, Virginia’s state capital. With more variety when it comes to accommodation, entertainment, shopping, dining, and nightlife, it offers a broader and more cultural experience. What's more, it’s just 2.5 hours away from Norfolk.

Of course, there’s also the option to ditch the city vibe altogether for the lulling seaside. Although Virginia Beach can be slightly pricier in the summer months, the soft sand, lapping shores, amusements, boutiques, and local restaurants make it all worthwhile.

As Norfolk is such a small city, all of its highlights are very accessible on foot. However, there’s so much to explore beyond the city limits from the parkland to the beaches that it might be worth getting a car.

Norfolk Scope Arena is an indoor arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

📜 History

Part of the larger Norfolk Scope entertainment complex, which also features a theatre known as Chrysler Hall, Scope Arena is a 13,800-seater venue. The venue is primarily used for basketball, ice hockey, and concerts, though has been known to host professional wrestling events and indoor soccer games.

A modern venue inside and out, the Scope facility is one of the largest public complexes in Virginia, second only to the Pentagon. In 2003, Scope Arena won the Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects Test of Time award for the world's largest reinforced thin-shell concrete dome.

Family restrooms with diaper changing facilities are available in Scope Arena, Harbor Park, and Chrysler Hall.

Parking

The Scope Parking Garage contains accessible parking spaces adjacent to both the Chrysler Hall elevator and the Scope Arena lower concourse doors. The Attucks Theatre, Harrison Opera House and Harbor Park have clearly marked accessible parking spaces in their lots. When attending the Wells Theatre, it is recommended you utilize one of the following parking garages:

Drop offs

In the event accessible parking is not available, the garages/lots are full, or patrons are being dropped off, patrons may be dropped off in designated areas close to each venue’s entrance.
In Scope Garage, notify the parking attendant on entry about the drop off, enter the garage and make an immediate U-turn. The elevator entrance to Chrysler Hall and/or Scope Plaza will be on the right, next to the parking booth

Hearing Devices/Services

Assisted Listening Devices are available for all performances at Chrysler Hall and Harrison Opera House. There is no charge, but a valid ID will be required as deposit for use of a device. Please inquire with an usher for assistance.

Audio Description is an accommodation for persons who are blind or have low vision. It is a narration of the visuals such as scenery, props and body language. Patrons should check out the equipment—a receiver and earbuds—in the lobby. Patrons should be seated 30 minutes before the show to receive preshow narration.

Open Captioning is available at select Broadway in Norfolk performances. Open Captioning is a speech-to-text translation of the spoken word displayed on an LED Board at stage left. Ask for reserved open captioned seating when purchasing your ticket.

Wheelchair Escort

Patrons with limited mobility who do not have access to a wheelchair may request transport to their seat.

Restrooms

Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are located in all venues. Family restrooms with diaper changing facilities are available in Scope Arena, Harbor Park, and Chrysler Hall.

Service Animals are allowed on the premises under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that comply with additional identification requirements of Virginia Law.
