Don Haskins Center is easily accessible by car and public transportation. With ample parking space and drop off zones, travelling by car to the arena is preferable and offers ease of access. There are also plenty of bus stops within close proximity to the venue.

🅿️ Parking

All general public patrons can park in any of the following lots free of charge on a first-come, first served basis:

Inner Campus 900 m (11 min) walk to the venue
Schuster Street Lots (P1, P2, P3, P4, S1, S2) 1.9 km (23 min) walk to the venue
Disabled parking is located in P9 immediately north of the Sun Bowl (1.0 km (12 min) walk). Additional parking is located in the R6 parking lot located off Sun Bowl Dr. at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. A courtesy shuttle is available to and from the south lots only.

📍 Where To Stay

First-time visitors and keen sightseers will be well-positioned in El Centro, the commercial heart of El Paso. Not only is it bursting with shopping, dining, and nightlife options, it’s also rich with cultural attractions such as the El Paso Museum of Art.

El Paso is a university city and most of its students and graduates like to hang out in Union Plaza, the city’s hipster hotspot. From markets to indie clothing stores, and cool cafes, it has everything that’s considered cool and quirky.

As El Paso’s entertainment district, Union Plaza offers top-notch restaurants and bars. However, the area is rivaled by Mesa Street. A few kilometres outside the city centre, Mesa Street offers foodies and night owls a unique mix of brewpubs, grills, taquerias, and cocktail bars. You name it it’s got it.

Kern Place is a quieter and calmer neighbourhood in between El Centro and Mesa Street from which you can easily explore Franklin Mountains State Park.

While most of central El Paso is very walkable, there are buses and taxis available for areas that feel a little out of reach on foot.

About Don Haskins Center

The Don Haskins Center, formerly known as the Special Events Center, is a multi-purpose arena primarily used for basketball, concerts, and graduation ceremonies. The Center is home to the University of Texas at El Paso Miners men's and women's basketball.

📜 History

Many area schools, including El Paso Community College, use the Don Haskins Center for graduation and commencement ceremonies. However, as a premier entertainment venue in the city, the venue is also the regional stop for WWE when the company visits El Paso.

The Center has the largest seating capacity in El Paso, making it a popular attraction for concert-goers and sports fans. Big-name performers such as Shakira, Britney Spears, and KISS have performed at the venue for concerts.

🍔 Food & Drink

Don Haskins Center has an array of snacks and drinks to keep hunger and thirst at bay. From nachos, hot dogs, and pork rinds to popcorn, beer, and cotton candy; there are numerous food offerings located at the concessions on the concourse level of the arena.

Patrons are not permitted to bring their own food and beverage into the venue.

💂 Entry Gates

Entrance

Ticket Purchases and Will Call are available at the UTEP Ticket Center located in front of the East entrance to the Don Haskins Center.

You may access the floor through the portals marked Floor Entrance. Please keep your ticket with you at all times. You will be asked to show your ticket each time to access the floor.

Re-Entry

There is NO RE-ENTRY for any reason. A new ticket must be purchased to re-enter the building.

Toilets are conveniently located on the concourse level of the arena.

Service Animals

Animals/ pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals.

Accessible Seating

A reserved seating section has been designated for guests that are deaf and need access to American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services. Please asked to be seated in Sections V, W or X
It is recommended that those with wheelchairs, walkers, canes and strollers enter through the North and East entrances of the Don Haskins Center
Ushers will be available to direct all guests to accessible seating. As indicated on the floor plan below, wheelchair and companion seating is found on the Concourse level in Sections E, D, J, L, Q, R, V & W. Only one family member may accompany the individual in these designated areas. All other family members must find seating as available
Seating on the floor level is limited to only those that are directly participating in the ceremony. Therefore, there is no public access to the Don Haskins Center via the tunnel entrance off Glory Road. Please access the parking lots off Mesa St. or Sun Bowl Drive

Accessible Parking

The Glory Road Parking Garage located on Glory Rd. and Mesa Street, is accessible for individuals with disabilities and is equipped with an elevator. All family members and guests with mobility impairments will need to enter the Don Haskins Center via the Mesa Street entrances. The Don Haskins Center is not accessible via the South tunnel
For the easiest building access, please park in the accessible parking lot SB-8 via the North entrance of the Don Haskins Center as indicated below. Please use Sun Bowl Drive to access lots SB-8 and ME-1
It is recommended that any passenger needing assistance be dropped off at the East Entrance of the Don Haskins Center via Mesa Street or Sun Bowl Drive. CASS Staff will be available with wheelchairs to assist guests to the accessible seating locations on the Concourse Level of the facility. Following the ceremony, staff will also assist guests in returning to the drop-off location

Use of courtesy wheelchairs are strictly limited only to areas inside the Don Haskins Center.
