Circuit of the Americas (or COTA) is located in Travis County, 15 miles south east of downtown Austin. There is parking available at the venue, and driving is the most common way to access the circuit. Shuttle buses also run between the circuit and downtown Austin.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Circuit of the Americas. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
Parking is available at the circuit, with passes typically on sale for single days in Lot F or for all 3 days of a race weekend in Lots G-R.
Official park and ride services are offered from both on-site and off-site locations. The on-site lots are closer to the entrance gates, but generally more expensive. Free shuttle buses are provided for fans with off-site parking passes, although these do not always run on a reliable schedule.
Several independent lots and private residences near the circuit offer cheaper parking than the official options, with many passes available to purchase on the day. Those located more than a mile from COTA typically offer shuttle bus services to and from the circuit.
During events, taxis and rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft operate out of the Del Valle High School parking lot. This lot is 3.5 miles from the circuit and can only be accessed by a complimentary COTA shuttle service, which does not need to be booked in advance. Taxis and rideshare vehicles are not allowed onto McAngus Road or COTA Blvd during race weekends.
Shuttle bus services operate during major events at the circuit, including Grand Prix weekends. Buses usually begin their services at 08:00, with the last buses setting off for COTA at 18:30 on Friday and Saturday and 14:00 on Sunday. The last buses leave the circuit about an hour after the concerts end on Friday and Saturday, and until demand stops after the race on Sunday. As of 2022, there were 3 main routes:
Downtown Austin
East Austin
West Austin
The McAngus Lot at COTA is located approximately 15 minutes walk from the Grand Plaza entrance.
Austin boasts a wide range of visitor accommodation, including budget hostels and apartments, chic contemporary and traditional hotels, and upscale spa resorts on the city’s western outskirts.
Circuit of the Americas provides a wide range of food and drink, from large national brands to local food trucks. Choices typically include pizza, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Turkish wraps, Thai dishes, core concession items, and a selection of vegan and vegetarian options.
Beer and cocktails are served at all events, and visitors should bring a government-issued ID if they intend to buy alcoholic drinks.
Hydration stations are available at Turn 1, Turn 4/5, the Main Grandstand, and the Grand Plaza.
Re-entry to the circuit is permitted during motorsports events, but visitors are asked to scan their tickets at the gates before they exit. Further security screening will take place when visitors re-enter the venue.
Permanent restroom facilities are available at the Grand Plaza, Germania Insurance Amphitheater bowl, Main Grandstand and at Turn 1. Additional temporary facilities may be available during events.
The Amtrak service Texas Eagle runs between Chicago and San Antonio, stopping in Austin. The eastbound train leaves San Antonio in early morning and arrives to Austin between 09:00 and 10:00. The westbound train leaves Chicago in the early afternoon and reaches Austin between 18:00 and 19:00 the following day.
The Austin Amtrak station is located at 250 N Lamar Blvd, approximately 20-30 minutes drive from COTA. Taxis and rideshare services are available at the station.
COTA is not located in a pedestrian-friendly area, so it is not advised to walk to the circuit. Although there are some unincorporated residential communities within 30 minutes walk, such as Elroy, the roads are not particularly safe for pedestrians, so even fans in these closer areas may prefer to take other means of transport.

Permanent accessible restrooms are located at the Main Grandstand, the Grand Plaza, and Turn 1. Additional temporary facilities will be also available during events.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at Circuit of the Americas, as long as they remain with their owner and are restrained.
