As Downtown Knoxville is the life and soul of the city, it comes highly recommended for first-time visitors who want to immerse in its unique atmosphere. From shopping and dining to nightlife and entertainment, this commercial neighbourhood has everything you could want right at your feet.

Foodies will particularly love Downtown’s Market Square plaza, which is concentrated with a mouth-watering selection of eclectic independent bars and eateries. It is also famed for its chic independent boutiques selling high quality clothes and crafts.

Old City is the edgy alternative to the commercial Downtown area. Known for its quirky bars and cafes, and its line-up of independent shops, artisan bakeries, and art galleries, this creative quarter is where you’ll find the hipsters hanging out.

As student areas, Fort Sanders and University of Tennessee are equally young and hip as Old City, but more affordable and low-key. Rather than indie boutiques and artisanal bakeries, think vintage shops and dive bars.

Foodies will find sweet (or savoury) satisfaction in Marble City, where the dining scene is diverse and delicious with cuisine from every corner of the globe. Being a few kilometres away from Downtown, it is rather relaxed and has plenty of green spaces for families.

With a number of kid-friendly attractions like Knoxville Zoo and The Muse museum, East Knoxville is also ideal for families. Although it’s considered quiet and more residential, it is just moments from the bustle of Downtown.

There is a web of buses connecting each area in Knoxville making it easy to explore from wherever you decide to stay.

About Neyland Stadium

Neyland Stadium is home to the Tennessee Volunteers football team.

After 16 expansion projects, the stadium is the fifth largest in the United States and the seventh largest in the world. It is named after Hall of Fame coach Robert Neyland, often called the best defensive coach ever in American football.

🍔 Food & Drink

Neyland Stadium provides many concession stands throughout the venue, with a range of popular gameday items for sale. Fans can expect to find all the traditional snacks, including hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pizza, pretzels, ice cream, and beer. Petro's Chili and Chips is a local favourite, offering its classic petro: a cup of chicken or vegetarian chili on a base of Fritos chips, topped with cheddar and Jack cheeses, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and green onions.

Outside food and drink may not be brought into the stadium, but fans may bring 1 empty water bottle to refill inside the venue.

💂 Entry Gates

Gates at Neyland Stadium open 2 hours before kickoff. Fans should use the gate marked on their ticket to ensure efficient entry to the stadium.

Visitors bringing medically necessary items or equipment must use Gates 14 or 21, where security staff will verify and screen the items.

Restrooms are available all throughout Neyland Stadium.

Accessible elevator entrances are available at Gates 15, 21, and 26. Fans with questions about the accessibility of the stadium can ask for further information at 865-974-1205 (Event Management office).

Fan Information Centers

Fan Information Centers are located outside Gate 21 and in the Toyota Volunteer Village, and they open 4 hours prior to kickoff.

First Aid

As well as ensuring that trained first aid responders are located throughout the venue, Neyland Stadium provides 4 permanent first aid stations:

Lower level concourse outside Section O/P (inside Gate 21)
Lower level concourse outside Section X1 (inside Gate 9)
Upper level concourse outside of Section II
Upper level concourse outside of Section XX4

Lost & Found

Items found during a game can be handed in at the Gate 21 elevators. After games, any remaining items will be turned over to the Athletic Event Management Office at 1600 Phillip Fulmer Way Suite 230. Fans can call this office on (865) 974-1205 and items can be collected from the Monday following each game.
