Downtown Eugene is where most hotels are located, providing easy access to Eugene Station, Willamette River, and an exciting range of trendy bars, cafes, and clothing stores. All the parties happen Downtown on a Friday night, and the local market takes place here on Saturday mornings.
Stay in the West University Neighbourhood to be close to a number of student-centric shops and bars, as well as many of Eugene’s cultural and entertainment venues.
Although located directly next to Downtown, West Eugene offers a much more suburban feel for those who want the best of both worlds. Yet, while this neighbourhood is much quieter, both the Hult Centre for Performing Arts and the McDonald Theater are located here, so you’re never short on entertainment.
If you want to be close to nature without being too far from Downtown, stay in Cal Young, an affluent residential area north of the Willamette River that offers a number of golf clubs and parks to spend a leisurely afternoon in. It is also close to the highway that leads directly into the surrounding mountains.
The LTD public bus is a useful transport service that runs throughout Eugene, allowing you to get from A to B relatively quickly and smoothly.
