Visiting Tulsa–Broken Arrow–Owasso
Known for its Art Deco architecture and penchant for jazz, western swing, and folk music influences, Tulsa is certainly a cultured city. From the Eleventh Street Arkansas River Bridge to the Southwestern Bell Main Dial Building, the city is doused in 1920s style; but when you hit the Arts District, you are flung straight into the '50s. Home to Cain’s Ballroom which hosted daily shows from Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, and the Woody Guthrie Center, it’s no surprise the Arts District has gone down in music history. Meanwhile, the hipster Blue Dome District brings the city to the modern-day with its alternative eateries, booming bars, and independent shops.
