About Fox Oakland Theater

The Fox Oakland Theater is a historic concert venue located in Oakland, California. It primarily hosts music concerts.

The theater opened on 27 October 1928, originally serving as a movie palace and live-performance venue. After closing in 1970, it stood vacant and suffered deterioration. In 1996, a community campaign began to renovate the building, culminating in a grand reopening in 2009. It has since established itself as a premier live music destination.
