Von Braun Center

The Von Braun Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Huntsville, Alabama. Opened in 1975, it is named after Wernher von Braun, the German-American rocket scientist who played a key role in the foundation of the United States' space program having been brought to the USA after the Second World War. It has been the home to many sports teams over the years, including the Huntsville Havoc ice hockey outfit. It's said that soon after it opened, Elvis Presley made an unprecedented 5 consecutive performances at the venue over the course of 3 days, the first time he had done so outside of Las Vegas or Stateline, Nevada.
