Competing in international tournaments for more than 70 years, the United States Baseball Team is one of the sport's most successful national sides. As of 2023, the USA have competed in more than 50 baseball tournaments on the international stage, including numerous editions of the World Baseball Classic, the Baseball World Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. Among its greatest successes, the US baseball team counts a gold medal in the 2000 Olympics, and 4 victories in the Baseball World Cup.
The USA have competed in the World Baseball Classic (baseball's current premier international tournament) on a number of occasions, winning the competition for the first time in 2017. In recent years, some of the top players in the world have played for the United States Baseball Team, including Bryce Harper, Mookie Betts, Pete Alonso, and Clayton Kershaw.
