Alternatively, swap the city for the sea and stay in one of the nearby resort towns. Torquay and Paignton are quaint popular beach resort towns with lots to do for the whole family, Exmouth is quieter and offers a more relaxed pace.

Of course, there’s always the option to stay in the scenic countryside surrounding Exeter on a lavish country estate, a rustic farm, or a quiet campground. If you’re willing to travel further afield, consider staying in another city near to Exeter like Bournemouth of Bristol.
