If you’re travelling by car, getting to Etihad Arena couldn’t be easier. Simply pin the location into your maps app and drive over. Whether travelling from Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Abu Dhabi International Airport, the main highway signage will also help direct you to Yas Island and Yas Bay. If you’re visiting from outside the UAE, your easiest option is to land in Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) located just a 7 minute drive from the Arena. Downtown Abu Dhabi (25 minutes) and Dubai (45 minutes) are also close by. If you’d like to rent a car, the airport has plenty of options for you. All car rental offices operate 24/7.

Fans can also access the arena via bus services and taxi.

🅿️ Parking

Parking

There is free and paid parking available within walking distance of Etihad Arena but arrangements will vary, depending on the event. Check your ticket for the latest advice on the best place to park.

Disabled Parking

Designated disabled parking spaces are available at Etihad Arena. Further, a designated pick-up and drop-off area is conveniently located for those with reduced mobility.

🚖️ Taxi

Getting around Abu Dhabi is easy, and taxis are reasonably priced and plentiful. They can be booked by phone through the Trans AD hotline 600 535353 or via the Abu Dhabi Taxi app available for both iOS and Android phones. There will be a dedicated taxi rank close to the arena. Once at Etihad Arena, ask your driver to follow the signage to drop you at the dedicated Taxi drop-off area. Careem is the official ride-hailing service in the UAE. Download the Careem app from the App store or Google Play to register your details and arrange your first ride. Ask your Careem driver to follow the signage and drop you at the dedicated Careem pick-up and drop-off zone.

🚍 Coach & Bus

By bus from Abu Dhabi: If you're opting to travel by bus, take the 190 Bus Route to Yas Island via the Abu Dhabi Bus Station next to Al Wahda Mall. By bus from Dubai: Head to the Dubai Al Ghubaiba Bus Station for transport to the Abu Dhabi Bus Station. Next, take the 190 Bus Route to Yas Island. Note: if a few of you are travelling together then a taxi may be just as cost effective as the bus.

Etihad Arena Hotels & Accommodation

Abu Dhabi is an expensive city to visit with a soft spot for the finer things in life. This means that while there are many luxurious boutique hotels and resorts, budget accommodation is a little harder to come by. The city centre is situated on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by tiny islands along the Gulf Coast, which is where the majority of its hotels are located.

📍 Where To Stay

Al Zahiyah and Al Danah, which connect to the upscale Al Maryah Island among others, culminate the dining and entertainment hub of the city. Many mid-range hotels are located in this area, as well as the giant Abu Dhabi Mall, featuring international chain shops and restaurants.

If the city’s beaches and corniche are your priority, stay in Al Khalidiyah, Al Hisn, or Al Bateen. These areas boast a top waterfront dining scene, and feature a number of the city’s best malls, including the Marina Mall, and its most lavish hotels.

Although Al Manhal is the city’s central neighbourhood, it is relatively quiet and residential. This means it is slightly cheaper, and more family-friendly compared to the beachfront neighbourhoods, yet very easy to reach them.

Of course, there is a pick ‘n’ mix of private and public islands surrounding the city’s mainland to choose from too. Many of them feature beaches, golf courses, pools, and more, making them a top choice for families.

To get around Abu Dhabi, it is necessary to take a car or taxi, which offer a much-needed respite from the desert heat.

About Etihad Arena

Etihad Arena, also known as the Yas Bay Arena, is the largest multi-purpose arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is located in Yas Bay Waterfront district on Yas Island.

📜 History

The arena officially opened in 2021, with the first event held there being UFC on ABC: Holloway v Kattar. Yas Island had already been used during the pandemic for behind-closed-doors events known as "Fight Island," and the Etihad Arena has been used frequently for UFC events ever since, including UFC 257: Poirier v McGregor 2, and UFC 267: Blachowicx v Texeira.

In addition, Etihad Arena has also hosted the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships, boxing matches including a Floyd Mayweather exhibition, and NBA preseason games.

🍔 Food & Drink

Etihad Arena offers a wide range of F&B concessions. There is no seating at concession outlets. However, for your convenience you can take your food and drink to your seats inside the auditorium. Alcohol is available in designated outlets throughout the Arena and will only be served to those who present a valid original ID identifying patrons as being of legal drinking age. Alcohol will not be served to minors or guests in National Dress.

Food and beverage purchased from outside of the Arena is NOT permitted inside Etihad Arena.

💂 Entry Gates

By entering the Arena, you agree to a personal search. Bags, purses, strollers, food and drink, professional cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in the venue. Members of staff are at liberty to confiscate any item considered dangerous or prohibited. Other prohibited items include, but are not limited to, glass, tools, fireworks, darts, scissors, blades, knives, swords, stun guns, gas defence sprays, firearms, air horns, alcohol, drugs, narcotics and any other items that may be deemed illegal, unsafe and/or a danger to other patrons.

🚽 Toilets

Toilets are conveniently located throughout the arena.

🧑‍🦽 Disabled Facilities

Floor seating is spread over the flat floor area and is not tiered. Floor seating is generally the closest to the stage and perfect for visitors who require wheelchair/ accessible access.

Etihad Arena is a fully accessible venue with disability seating available for all events. Location of wheelchair seats may vary due to the variety of events and seating configurations at the Arena. Elevators

Elevators and escalators are available for easy access to all levels.

Accessible Restrooms

Etihad Arena provides accessible restrooms on every level, excluding the mezzanine. These restrooms can be found on both the north and south side of the Arena.
