The UCI World Championships are a collection of world championship events in various track cycling disciplines.
In 1893, Chicago played host to the first edition of the event, a competition for amateur cyclists, and over the years, the competition developed for professionals. In the modern era, the Championships are open to riders selected by their nationality. Currently, they include the following events with a division between men’s and women’s races: time trial, keirin, individual pursuit, team pursuit, points race, scratch race, sprint, team sprint, omnium, and madison. Winners of each discipline receive a gold medal and a recognisable rainbow jersey.
On 2026, the UCI Track World Championships will be held at Shanghai Velodrome in Shanghai.
