Seattle Surge is a professional esports team which competes in the Call of Duty League (CDL). The team is based in Seattle, Washington, and is jointly-owned by Enthusiast Gaming and Canucks Sports & Entertainment.
Founded in 2019 in preparation for the inaugural CDL season, Surge have played in both editions of the competition to date. Although they have few major competition titles, Surge are known for producing upsets on the tour: their victories against Minnesota Røkkr in Minnesota during the 2020 season, and against Atlanta FaZe in the 2021 Stage 5 Major being 2 high-profile examples.
Seattle Surge's franchise branding has a largely nautical theme, drawing on the power of the ocean and Washington's proximity to open water. The team crest - a turquoise trident - is a nod to the trademark weapon of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea.
