Unione Sportiva Salernitana 1919 - also known as US Salernitana but more commonly known simply as Salernitana - is an Italian professional football club based in Salerno just to the south of Naples and currently playing in the top tier Serie A. The club plays home games at Stadio Arechi.
As the name suggests, the club was founded in 1919 and historically has also gone by the names Società Sportiva Salernitanaudax and Salernitana Sport. The club has had varying degrees of success and played in the top level of Italian football during the 1947-48 and 1998-99 seasons. After spending some time in the lower leagues - including as far down as Serie D - and a period of bankruptcy, Salernitana returned to Serie A for the 2021-22 season.
The home venue of Salernitana is Stadio Arechi in Salerno. Away games will usually be played at the rival team's home venue.
