The cosmopolitan capital of Qatar, Doha offers a dizzying mix of Gulf tradition and 21st-century sparkle. Doha developed as a regional trading centre and pearl fishing hub, with this spirit still living on in the labyrinthine Souq Waqif, a market filled with eclectic stalls and stylish modern eateries. Today, the city is a dream for culture vultures, with several high profile arts venues calling the city home, most notably the I.M. Pei-designed Museum of Islamic Art. Add to this Doha's role as a financial centre, its dazzling, always-evolving modern skyline, and dreamy man-made island "The Pearl", and you have all the ingredients for greatness.
Hamad International Airport (DOH) - Qatar's only major airport - is a sparkling modern facility located approximately 15 km southeast of the city centre. The airport is well connected to the heart of Doha by Metro, public bus, and various taxi & limousine services.
Doha is usually very hot in November, with highs of 30°C and an average temperature of 24°C. The climate tends to be very dry, with an average 1% chance of rain each day.
