In qualifying as co-hosts for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, the Papua New Guinea women's rugby league team opened up their country's fervent love of rugby league to the world. Unfortunately, the team itself - nicknamed the PNG Orchids - lost all 3 of their matches at the tournament.
Since then, however, the side has beaten England and qualified for the Rugby League World Cup 2021; the Orchids will be keen to blossom into a more consistent test team, and give their passionate fans more to shout about!
