The history of the New Zealand women’s national cricket team extends to 1935 when the team made its international debut in a Test match against England. Since those early days, the White Ferns have distinguished themselves as one of the top teams in women’s cricket. Together with England and Australia, New Zealand is one of only 3 nations to have played in every edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup since its inception. New Zealand has reached the Women’s Cricket World Cup final on 4 occasions, winning the competition in 2000 and finishing second in 1993, 1997, and 2009.
