As the home of movie stars, rock stars, and business tycoons, LA is notoriously expensive to visit. If you want to live the high life and mingle amongst the rich and famous, stay in Beverly Hills. As one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the world, its hotels and rentals will offer nothing less than the utmost style and luxury.
Malibu is another exclusive neighbourhood known for its extravagant beachfront villas, high-end boutiques, and fine dining restaurants. As it’s on the northern coast of LA, it offers a quiet and relaxed change from the city centre.
To experience the more bohemian and artsy side to LA, stay along the coastline in Santa Monica or Venice, home of the hippies and surfers. With beaches, amusement parks, arcades, and many other fun attractions, this area would be perfect for families looking to escape the city bustle.
For a more subdued and authentic stay in LA, away from the tourists and main landmarks, stay in one of the many quaint residential neighbourhoods surrounding the inner city, including Hollywood Hills, Studio City, Sherman Oaks.
Although LA is a huge city, its Metro Rail and Metro Bus systems make it easy to get around. However, most visitors prefer to hire a car to explore the city more fully.
