The National Bank Open, also known as the Canadian Open, and formerly known as the Rogers Cup, is Canada’s most prestigious tennis tournament. It is the second-oldest tennis competition in the world, pre-dated only by Wimbledon: the men's tournament began in 1881 at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club and was expanded to include women in 1892. Today, this hard court men's competition is part of the ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000.
Since 1981, the tournament has operated in a dual-venue format whereby the men and women play at the same time in separate cities – either Toronto or Montréal – and then swap to the alternate city the following year. In 2026, the women's draw returns to Toronto, and the men's draw returns to Montréal.
