Motionless In White, often abbreviated to MIW, are a metal band from Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. Drawing on metalcore, gothic metal, industrial metal and nu metal, they are known for dark aesthetics, horror-inspired imagery and a theatrical live show.
The group began in mid-2000s high school years and adopted the name Motionless In White on New Year’s Day 2005, taking it from the Eighteen Visions song "Motionless and White". After early demos and the EP "The Whorror", they released debut album "Creatures" in 2010, followed by "Infamous" (2012) and "Reincarnate" (2014), which broadened their profile. Signing to Roadrunner Records, they issued "Graveyard Shift" (2017), "Disguise" (2019) and "Scoring the End of the World" (2022), cementing a blend of heavy riffs and electronic textures.
Notable tracks include "Abigail", "570", "Voices", "Another Life", "Masterpiece" and "Playing God". The band continue to tour internationally and have announced further new material extending their catalogue into the mid‑2020s.
