Hayley Nichole Williams is an American singer and songwriter from Franklin, United States. She is best known as the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of Paramore. Her work spans alternative rock, pop punk, pop rock and emo pop.
Forming Paramore in 2004 as a teenager, Williams helped drive the band’s breakthrough with "Riot!" (2007) and the singles "Misery Business" and "Decode". Subsequent albums "Brand New Eyes" (2009), "Paramore" (2013) and "After Laughter" (2017) cemented their mainstream standing; "Ain’t It Fun" earned a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 2015. The band returned with "This Is Why" (2023). As a solo artist she released "Petals for Armor" (2020) and "Flowers for Vases / descansos" (2021), including the single "Simmer". Beyond music, she co-founded the hair-colour company Good Dye Young in 2016.
