



Originally known for its production of textiles, the industrial city of Manchester has now become synonymous with 80's rock music and, of course, football. Manchester Airport (MAN) is the busiest airport outside of London and offers frequent direct flights to many of the most important airports worldwide. Located 14 km south of the city centre, the city can be reached in 20 minutes by car or the Windermere train leaves every 15 minutes from Manchester Airport, reaching Manchester Piccadilly in the city centre in around 17 minutes.
London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) is a much cheaper destination to fly to, and it offers many more flight routes. Trains to Manchester city centre from Heathrow Airport leave every hour and will take around 3 hours to arrive.
