Faith Kipyegon is a Kenyan professional middle-distance runner specialising in 1500 metres. She found success on the highest stage by becoming Olympic champion at the 2016 Rio Games and the delayed 2020 Tokyo Games with the Games record at the latter. She is the second woman in history to claim back-to-back Olympic 1500 m titles and thus is considered to be one of the greatest female 1500 m runners of all time. She has won multiple World Championship titles including in 2022 and in 2023.

Great stadium and atmosphere, relatively easy entry once the championships got going.

The event was well organized. Most of the volunteers were very helpful, however a few got impatient with visitors due to the language barrier. I assume that it was the language barrier and not something else! Sometimes the credit card machines for buying food and drinks did not function properly. This was very frustrating, both to the young people behind the counter and to the spectators. Other than that it was a good experience for me.

Rome/Florence: Golden Gala - Pietro Mennea, Stadium Luigi Ridolfi
Fantastic. A great night all around, but Faith Kipyegon breaking the world record was the obvious highlight. A fabulous crowd with plenty of knowledgeable 'tifosi'.
