The England netball team was established in 1963, and since then has featured in every World Championships or World Cup.
In 2018, the Vitality Roses won their first Commonwealth Games gold medal with a victory over Australia, who along with New Zealand have long dominated the international netball scene. England's best result at a Netball World Cup event is second place, which the team achieved in 1975 and 2023.
