Carin León, born Óscar Armando Díaz de León Huez, is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Performing under the name Carín León, he has become one of the leading figures of regional Mexican music.
León began in local groups Los Reales and Grupo Arranke before launching a solo career in 2018. His early success came with his rendition of "A Través del Vaso" and singles such as "Tú", "Me La Aventé" and "El Tóxico". Studio albums including "El Malo", "Inédito", "Colmillo de Leche" and "Boca Chueca, Vol. 1" showcase his mix of banda, norteño, sierreño and mariachi with rock, pop, soul, R&B, flamenco and country influences.
He has earned multiple Latin Grammy Awards, among them Best Regional Mexican Song for "Como lo Hice Yo", Best Norteño Album for "Colmillo de Leche" and Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album for "Boca Chueca, Vol. 1". "Boca Chueca, Vol. 1" and the expanded "Palabra de To's (Seca)" have both won the Grammy Award for Best Música Mexicana Album, consolidating León as a global ambassador for Mexican music.
