The Manuka Oval is accessible via car, public transportation, and bike. Bus services are free to ticket holders and there is ample car parking space located near to the venue.

Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Manuka Oval. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.

🅿️ Parking

General Parking is available at Kingston & Manuka Shopping Centres, Kingston Oval, and surrounding streets (all within 600 m (7 min) of Manuka Oval). Please refer to the seating plan to see which entrance would be most convenient to gain access to your seats.

🚖️ Taxi

Taxis are permitted to drop-off patrons at either the East or Main gate drives but would recommend dropping off at the Manuka Shopping centre then use the pedestrian traffic lights to cross Canberra Avenue

Taxis are available at the conclusion of the event from the Manuka Oval Shopping Centre Taxi Rank.

Ride Share Services are able to drop-off and/or pick-up patrons at 2 Community Drop areas. These being either the corner of Fitzroy St and Empire Circuit or the corner of Furneax St and Canberra Ave

🚍 Coach & Bus

Free chartered buses will depart from both the City & Woden Bus Stations to Manuka Oval.

In addition, travel on ALL Transport Canberra services is FREE on game day to holders of a game ticket – simply show your ticket to the driver when boarding. Catch the rapid routes 5 or 6, from Transport Canberra servicing nearby to the event with a short walk to Manuka Oval. Let the driver know you are heading to the game, and you can travel free.

🚴 Cycling

There are a number of paths available for use for entry and departure from Manuka Oval. Please note that there is a bike rack outside both the East & Main gates but no bikes are permitted inside the venue. You must also provide your own lock and the venue takes no responsibility for your bikes security.

📍 Where To Stay

It might set you back more Aussie dollars than other Canberra neighbourhoods, but the CBD is where the action is at. As the business and commercial centre, it is brimming with some of the city’s best shops, restaurants, and bars. At night, the party starts here.

Budget travellers might prefer Acton, the neighbourhood immediately west of the CBD. Although just moments away from the excitable centre, Acton is much cheaper, but no less exciting by any means. This trendy university neighbourhood is reputed for its distinguished galleries and cool local bars.

This city’s hippest hangout, however, is north of the CBD in Braddon. With vintage boutiques, eclectic eateries, and independent stores, this bohemian barrio will constantly keep you on your toes.

For a full cultural immersion in the Aussie capital, stay near the State Circle which encompasses parliament on the south banks of Lake Burley Griffin. As well as the parliament buildings (old and new), this area is where you will find many of the most important national institutes like the National Gallery of Australia.

Families might prefer to stay in the Kingston neighbourhood a few blocks east of the State Circle. Leafy and laid-back yet cool and contemporary, it is the city’s most family-oriented neighbourhood within easy reach of the big attractions.

Alternatively, opt for a satisfying mix of city and nature by staying in Woden Valley. Although within easy reach of the State Circle and CBD, it is also on the doorstep of nature reserves, walking trails, and parks.

Or why not bounce out of the city entirely and stop in the Australian bush with the kangaroos instead. With campsites and lodges to keep you fed, watered, and rested, it promises a true Aussie experience.

The buses and light rail network operating throughout the city make it easy to explore Canberra from your favourite neighbourhood.

The Manuka Oval is a multi-purpose sporting venue in Canberra, Australia.

Manuka Oval History

The stadium is primarily used for cricket in the summer months, and Aussie rules football in the winter. In the past, the ground has also hosted an assortment of sports, including rugby league and rugby union matches, boxing, wrestling, and hockey fixtures.

As a cricket ground, the Manuka Oval is the premier site for cricket and AFL events in Canberra, and proud home ground to the ACT Comets (men's) and the ACT Meteors (women's). As well as domestic cricket, the ground has hosted several international matches, including at the 1992 and 2015 World Cups.

Catering Available

There is a variety of food and beverage options available from bar and food outlets in public areas. There are also hospitality offerings including exclusive dining, open boxes, and catered seats as well as lounge and cocktail functions.

Patrons are permitted to bring the following items into Manuka Oval:

Pre-packaged food such as sandwiches, fruit, biscuits, crisps, etc. for individual consumption;
Unopened Non-alcoholic beverages at or less than 1 litre for individual consumption (excluding glass, cans or breakable containers);
Empty refillable water bottles or thermos up to 1 litre in volume are permitted upon inspection

There are 3 gate entrances:

VIP Gate (Bradman Stand)
East Gate (located next to Marquee Platform)
Main Gate (located next to Hawke Terrace Upper)

To minimise inspection congestion at entry gates, prams and strollers are currently banned from entry due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Wheelchair accessible seating in the outer ground is on the Concourse level only with reserved seats and lift access to the Bradman Stand Concourse also available. When inside the venue, please see a customer service representative if you require further assistance.
