The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) may only be in its sophomore year - its inaugural season took place in 2021 - but it is already a hugely popular esports competition: thousands of teams have entered its preliminary stages, and over 1 million viewers have watched the action online. Throughout the 2022 season, the VCT has also demonstrated its ability to draw large live crowds, with its biggest events taking place in a LAN format, in front of in-person audiences.
The 2022 Valorant Champions is one such event. As the culmination of the 2022 VCT season, the Champions tournament will see the very best Valorant esports teams fighting to become 2022 VCT champions, across more than 2 weeks of heart-stopping, competitive gameplay. The action will unfold at the Volkswagen Arena, in Istanbul, Turkey, between Wednesday 31 August and Sunday 18 September; tickets are available for the final 8 days of the event, with prices starting at TRY ₺130 (USD $7.15).
Teams set to appear at the Valorant Champions include 2021 semifinalists KRÜ Esports and Team Liquid, as well as other established esports outfits such as 100 Thieves, FunPlus Phoenix, and Optic Gaming. However, with a total of 16 teams involved across a group stage and double elimination bracket, predicting this year’s victors is not easy. The competition will be fierce, the action will be relentless, and drama is guaranteed!
