The regular Suncorp Super Netball season is over, and New South Wales Swifts sit happily at the top of the ladder. After a dominant season that saw the Swifts win 10 games and lose just 3, they have qualified for the Major Semifinal on 24 June.
The Swifts will face Adelaide Thunderbirds in that match, who ended the season just 4 points behind the minor premiers. The league’s top performers will compete for direct entry to the Grand Final, with the losing team forced to play for the chance again in the Preliminary Final.
The Major Semifinal is hosted at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, and the match is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time. Adult tickets are available from AUD $35, with discounts for children, families, and certain concession card holders.
The third and fourth placed teams in the league will also take to the court in the Minor Semifinal on 25 June. West Coast Fever, as the higher-placed finisher, will host Melbourne Vixens in Perth at the RAC Arena. Superstar Fever attacker Jhaniele Fowler recently surpassed 5,000 league goals, and this season alone she has scored over 100 more goals than any other Suncorp Super Netball player. Vixens will hope to contain Fowler and outscore the Fever, as the winner of the Minor Semifinal qualifies for the Preliminary Final – and that means the fans can keep dreaming of a chance at the league trophy.
The Minor Semifinal is scheduled to begin in Perth at 14:00 local time. Tickets are on sale from AUD $35 for standard adult rates, with several discounts available.
The winners of the Major Semifinal and the Preliminary Final will meet in Melbourne on 8 July for the Grand Final. This all-important clash determines the Suncorp Super Netball champions for the season, and tickets are already on sale, with adult pricing starting at AUD $50.
Don’t miss these decisive games!
