WWE Elimination Chamber has been the final stop on the road to WrestleMania for a number of years now, and it will once again play a key role in shaping the card for the "Showcase of the Immortals" in 2024. Held in Montreal in 2023, Elimination Chamber broke records for gate receipts, merchandise, and sponsorship, but this year WWE is ready to go one better.
Late last year, WWE announced that the 2024 edition of Elimination Chamber would air from Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. The decision continued a recent trend of staging a number of major Premium Live Events (PLEs) outside the United States (most notably, London hosted Money in the Bank in early 2023) and handed Australian fans their first major show since Super Show-Down in 2018.
Located in the heart of Perth, Optus Stadium is a versatile and highly modern stadium that has been earning rave reviews since its construction. The venue, which alongside cricket matches and Aussie rules football games has enjoyed performances from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay, is likely to be filled with more than 60,000 wrestling fans on the night of the Elimination Chamber event.
By no means an everyday wrestling show, Elimination Chamber will not only feature major grudge matches and title bouts, but also the infamous Elimination Chamber matches from which the PLE earns its name. These 2 matches, one for men and one for women, will take place inside a large chain-linked steel structure as 6 top stars aim to eliminate their opponents via pinfall or submission and become the last wrestler standing. The winner of each match will go on to earn a title shot on the "Grandest Stage of Them All" – WrestleMania.
As a premier event on the WWE calendar, Elimination Chamber will feature a host of top Superstars, including Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, and Australia's own, Rhea Ripley.
