The biggest professional wrestling promotion in the world will return to Britain's shores for an exciting 4-city tour. In a recent announcement, the company declared: "WWE Live makes its epic return to the United Kingdom this September."
"Fans attending will be able to see their favourite WWE Superstars from SmackDown, including Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Big E, Sasha Banks, Bayley, The Usos, and more."
The sweet but brief tour kicks off on Sunday, 19 September, at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, followed by a short stop at London's O2 Arena on Monday, 20 September. The action will continue in Cardiff at the Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday, 21 September, and finishes with a show at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Wednesday, 22 September.
Tickets are already on sale for all venues, ranging from £25 to £115 for standard tickets at the O2 arena date. Attendees will also be able to purchase premium fan packages and “meet & greet” experiences!
WWE hasn't been able to make the journey to the UK for almost two years since the Coronavirus pandemic forced the company to cancel the planned tour for April 2020.
WWE's roster normally only visits the UK twice a year, so the news of the cancelled tour was very disappointing to British fans. However, for Brits who have longed to see the infamous squared circle live and in person, the return of the wrestling giant has been met with great excitement.
Scottish fans are also hoping for a Drew McIntyre homecoming as WWE announces the Glasgow show as part of the UK tour. McIntyre is considered a legend in his hometown of Ayr, located on the southwest coast of Scotland. He certainly lives up to his nickname as "The Scottish Warrior," having headlined two WrestleMania events and becoming Britain's first WWE champion during the pandemic in 2020.
Despite not being confirmed for the tour by WWE, McIntyre insisted he would be there regardless in his latest tweet: "I've not been announced for this tour, but you best believe they will have to wrestle me off that plane. Britain, it's been too long."
The news of WWE's UK return comes as the company prepares to welcome back fans in the United States, with Friday Night SmackDown: Houston marking WWE's grand return to live crowds on 16 July. That same weekend will feature the return of WWE's long-awaited Money In The Bank special feature on 18 July. Tickets and hospitality are available for both shows, so be sure to get your tickets before it's too late!
