2025 DP World Tour Global Swings
The bulk of the season will be comprised of 5 “Global Swings.” Each is themed, typically around a location or region, and each swing has its own Order of Merit, where the top-performing players in each swing receive bonus prize money and bolster their efforts to qualify for the lucrative Rolex Series events (which boast elevated prize purses) and the later stages of the season. The Global Swings portion of the season starts on 21 November 2024 and concludes on 17 August 2025. They are broken down as follows:
- Opening Swing – 21 November 2024 to 22 December 2024
- International Swing – 10 January 2025 to 9 March 2025
- Asian Swing – 20 March 2025 to 27 April 2025
- European Swing – 8 May 2025 to 6 July 2025
- Closing Swing – 10 July 2025 to 17 August 2025
The full Global Swings schedule can be found here.
2025 DP World Tour Back 9
The “Back 9” events are a series of 9 more notable events on the calendar in which players will make significant strides in the Race to Dubai and finalise their place in the DP World Tour play-offs. Predominantly held in Europe, the Back 9 includes national opens such as the Irish Open, Open de France, and Open de Espana, as well as the BMW PGA Championship, one of the DP World Tour’s flagship competitions. The Back 9 starts on 21 August 2025 and ends on 26 October 2025. View the full Back 9 schedule here.

2025 DP World Tour Play-Offs
The DP World Tour Play-offs consist of 2 events: the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (6-9 November 2025) and the DP World Tour Championship (13-16 November 2025). These events are the climax of the Race to Dubai and the DP World Tour season, contested by the top 70 and then the top 50 players in the standings, respectively. These 2 competitions determine who will be crowned as European Number One. You can find the DP World Tour Play-offs schedule here.
2025 DP World Tour Players
Overall, hundreds of players compete on the DP World Tour each season. Many retain their eligibility from the previous season courtesy of their performance in the Race to Dubai standings, while others can qualify through their performance on other tours such as the Challenge Tour – the DP World Tour’s second-tier competition – and other tours from around the world.
Rory McIlroy won the Race to Dubai in 2024, the 6th time he has topped the DP World Tour’s end-of-season standings in his glittering career. Here’s the full top 10 from 2024:
- Rory McIlroy
- Rasmus Højgaard
- Thriston Lawrence
- Tyrrell Hatton
- Paul Waring
- Billy Horschel
- Tommy Fleetwood
- Adam Scott
- Robert MacIntyre
