5 Seconds of Summer, also known as 5SOS, are a pop-rock band from Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2011 by Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin, they first built a following on YouTube before breaking internationally while supporting One Direction on major arena tours.
Blending pop rock and pop punk, they scored early success with singles such as "She Looks So Perfect", "Amnesia" and "Don't Stop", and later enjoyed a global hit with "Youngblood", followed by further tracks including "Teeth". Their albums include "5 Seconds of Summer", "Sounds Good Feels Good", "Youngblood", "Calm" and "5SOS5".
The group have toured widely, topped charts in multiple countries and earned recognition including ARIA Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards. They remain active, releasing new music and performing while evolving their sound around melodic, guitar-driven pop.
