This men's tournament is currently contested in stroke play format over 4 rounds, with 18 holes to play on each day by a field of 156 players; this is cut down to the top 65 after the first 2 days of play. Players tee off in a staggered order; after the first round scores are set, the order of play begins with the player with the highest number of strokes and ends with the player with the lowest. The winner is the player with the lowest number of strokes across all rounds.
It has a prize purse of $9 million, of which the winner receives $1,575,000. The winner also receives 500 FedEx Cup points.
Water stations will be in the Championship Village and throughout the course for fans to bring their own reusable bottles.

There are 2 entrances; the main entrance off Cowden Hill Drive, and the spectator entrance from the public car park, which leads directly into the Championship Village.
A bag search will be in operation at the venue complete with sniffer dogs.

Electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs are available for hire from the Event Mobility charity for £35 and £15, respectively. Some scooters and wheelchairs may be available on the day from the Event Mobility tent in the Championship Village (subject to availability, first-come, first-served) but it is recommended you book in advance online at www.eventmobility.org.uk or by phone on 01386 725391.
