Overview
- ⏱️8 hoursApproximate duration
The Amstel Gold Race is an annual single-day classic road cycling race held in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands.
The first race took place in 1966 after Dutch sports promoters Ton Vissers and Herman Krott wanted to create a Dutch classic cycle race able to compete with those of Flanders and Italy. Since 1989 the event has been included in the relative guises of the UCI World Tour over the years. It is the only single-day World Tour race staged in the Netherlands and traditionally marks the change in the spring classics, where the climbers and stage racers replace the cobbled classics riders as favourites.
Since 2017, a Women's Amstel Gold Race is held on the same day and on largely the same roads as the men's race and is a significant race in the UCI Women's World Tour.
Amstel Gold Race Tickets
The race takes place over public roads and so no entry ticket is required to watch the cyclists; simply choose your spot along the route and get there in plenty of time before road closures to cheer them on. Hospitality tickets are available for you to enjoy your day in style and get that perfect spot by the finish line.
