Downtown Tulsa, aka the Deco District, is the best area to stay in the city for sightseeing, nightlife, and dining. The Blue Dome District in particular will keep you well-fed and watered with global cuisine and local beers, and keep you entertained at its bars and clubs.
For more refined evening entertainment, swap the bustle of Downtown for the cool and collected Arts District. With theatres, music venues, and more, this area offers the perfect dose of chilled evening entertainment after a busy day exploring the city.
Utica Square, located a few kilometres south of Downtown, is the ultimate shopping destination for those who need a bit of retail therapy. With upscale boutiques and fine dining restaurants, this area is ideal for the discerning traveller too.
If staying in the city itself doesn’t appeal to your peaceful nature, consider staying in one of the smaller cities within the metropolitan area: Broken Arrow or Owasso. Whilst they are less than a 15-minute drive from Downtown Tulsa and all its sights, they are much more relaxed and offer a community feel for families.
Most of Tulsa’s biggest attractions are within walking distance from one another, although there are also public bikes and scooters available to hire, as well as a free trolley. For those travelling further and wider than the Deco District itself, there are plenty of bus routes available.
