The UCI World Cups are season-long international competitions in various cycling disciplines organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
The World Cups are not to be confused with the World Championship, also organised by the UCI, which are single events that award the winners with a rainbow jersey to be worn in every race till the next World Championship. Typically the World Championships are held after the end of the World Cup season with World Cup events giving spectators a tantalising glimpse into cycling prospects.
Format & Scoring
The UCI World Cups are held in different locations throughout the season. Different cycling disciplines - mountain bike, cyclo-cross, BMX racing, and track cycling to name a few - have their own World Cups.
