So very disappointed that the 2026 Sentry Tournament was cancelled this year! It is one of our favorite tournaments that we look forward to and help to support the PGA and the island of Maui. Hope to see it back for 2027! Mahalo
It was cancelled ðŸ˜
The past couple times I attended the tournament ('23 '24) there was practically no handicap accommodations, even though sponsors advertised facilities and accommodations were available. Due to almost hilly terrain all over, travel was limited to only couple holes. I was left stranded many times during day. I hitched rides with golf personal who were traveling along from green to green as supervisors. They were always very nice to help, but many times I was left stranded at a particular green, sometimes all alone late in the day. I've attended the tournament for over 20+ years, but recently my travels have been limited. Unfortunately with practically handicap help, I did not attend this year and won't be attending in the future. My last experience as I was getting on the bus to travel to car was a feeling that I couldn't come back.
Hope its back next year
Reason did not attend (first time in 14 years) was because the 2024 venue had practically zero capability for handicap or limited handicap to move around course. I was able a couple of times to catch a ride with a very nice volunteer w/cart to go out to 2 and 8, and another time to go up to the 10/14 tee area. It was very difficult getting back from those areas to the club house area and bus lot area.
Venue management advertised there was handicaped capability, but they lied. Didn't want to take chance and be very limited to just access to clubhouse area.
Beautiful location. Good participation of quality golf professionals. So grateful that the golf community is supporting Maui with tourism dollars and donations.
Plenty of exercise if you can handle it!
It was a phenomenal experience. The staff, Karen, was very organized and worked hard ensuring a good outcome. She was very enthusiastic and kind.
Great course but very difficult for fans to walk. Limited access to water and bathrooms by clubhouse. My wife has limited mobility so to ask her to walk 100 yards for a bathroom is sad for a PGA tour event. Expected more from the PGA charging $150 to walk thru the door. Apparently the only want rich fans to attend.
I attended last January on Saturday and Sunday. I always love watching the tournament on TV and noticed that it is not too crowded. I realized why after attending. Nearly impossible to follow one group; especially, since the players take carts between holes on 4 or 5 holes. We did buy premium seating on 18 and one of the par 3's but did not think the views were worth it. We love Maui, but no plans to attend the tournament again.
I love it! Everything was top notch. A hard walk for a 74 year old though.
Great course beautiful location but if you aren’t local and don’t have a car difficult to get there shuttle bus only runs to one location and then you have to taxi from there it’s a shame the bus couldn’t drop at a variety of locations along the coast road.
Not enough food and drink outlets on the course and the vendors seemed to charge whatever they get like not giving change.
Golf was excellent and volunteers very friendly.
Well run event. Not oversold .Good seating😎
Great tournament. Volunteers were helpful and polite. Cookclub was terrific.
I suggest shuttle options for those that need help with hilly long walks
Excellent setup and a well run event.
Had a fabulous time!
Loved the experience! Transportation in shuttles needs much improvement though. We waited one hour for a shuttle at the pro shop at Kapalua on Thursday. Also, need more shade structures throughout the grounds. Raise the price to pay for them. We did pay $200 each for Sunday final at the Lanai - not enough seats for everyone.
My comments are made in the interest of helping to improve the visitor experience. Not to criticize. I had a great time there.....I know its a challenge providing services at elevation BUT....
1) Having at station amongst the food and beverage vans at the cross of 3 and 9 and not having water stations at the higher points on the course such as the top of 16 or on top of 5 is ludicrous. After those long climbs a water station would have been very nice.
2)Port a potty's should have been available up top too.
3)During the Mid day when a shuttle bus isn't needed between the parking and the course. It could be utilized to haul seniors to the higher elevations. That would be a very nice gesture.
Entry gate very confusing. Ask question no one seemed to know the answers. ADA area was unknown to everyone so i am not sure there was one. Prices were extremely high. I had Lanai Club tickets, and the tent was 150 yards from the 18th green, you could not see anything. Many of the people who said they had attended the tournament for many years (10+) said that the tent in the past had been right on the green. The tents on the green where both corporate tents!!! The open public seating area was only around 50 yards off the green. The seats were very uncomfortable. I have attended many PGA/LPGA tournament in the Tulsa area and they were head and shoulders better run than this one. Very disappointed and I paid a high-ticket price for nothing extra!!!!
Very crowded grandstand along 18 fairway. Location of grandstand made it very difficult to see where tee shots went and could not see where second shot landed near or on green. Use of grandstand was useless.
