The Shriners Children's Open is a professional men's golf tournament that is part of the PGA Tour. As well as providing a thrilling showcase of top-class golf, this event also supports a special cause by raising money for Shriners Children's hospitals.
The tournament holds a great deal of PGA Tour history; it was founded in 1983 and, the following year, it became the first event on the tour to offer a prize purse in excess of $1 million. It was also where Tiger Woods won his first ever PGA Tour title back in 1996.
Having started life as a 5-round event, the Shriners Children's Open changed to the now traditional 4 rounds in 2004. In 2014, it found a permanent home at TPC Summerlin, where is remains today.
In 2022, Tom Kim became the first player since Tiger Woods to win 2 PGA Tour events before turning 21 by winning this tournament by 3 strokes ahead of Patrick Cantlay. The pair were level heading into the final hole, but in a dramatic finish, the American triple-bogeyed to hand Kim the victory.
JT Poston is the defending champion after he secured a 1-shot victory over Doug Ghim in 2024, the 3rd PGA Tour victory of his career.
